A Break from your own Life?

Dear Sea Inside Family,

Welcome to the new year! Maybe you’re already celebrating the end of “Dry January” or feeling accomplished after completing a 30-day yoga, meditation, or movement challenge.

As each year comes to a close, we often reflect on what went well and what needs to change. More often than not, intentions like “taking better care of myself,” “reducing stress,” or “finding a better work-life balance” make it to the top of the list.

Yet, how often do we wait for the start of a new year—or the next holiday—to finally prioritise our well-being? We push through our daily routines, telling ourselves we’ll rest later, only to realise during time off how good it actually feels to slow down and take care of ourselves.

For years, I lived for my time off, always feeling slightly overwhelmed, telling myself I just “didn’t have the time” for self-care amidst work, social life, and maintaining my health. But recently, I’ve asked myself: Is it really about not having 10 minutes in the morning or evening to reset? Or is it that we are so used to running on high alert that slowing down feels unnatural—even unsafe?

Our nervous system, when constantly activated, makes it difficult to pause. Instead, we unconsciously chase the next task, staying busy because stillness can feel unsettling. But what if we could break that cycle—not just during holidays, but in our daily lives? What if, instead of waiting for the next break, we created space for balance right now?

The good news? Small, consistent practices can help shift the nervous system, making it easier to access clarity, calm, and intention: not just on vacation, but every single day.

Especially working with your breath—your direct access point to the nervous system—can create noticeable shifts in resilience and overall well-being within just a few weeks.

Rather than merely pushing through stress and living for the next holiday, what if you could integrate simple, effective practices into your daily life? Practices that help you maintain clarity, regulate stress, and access deep rest, not just when you’re away from your routine, but every single week.

If you would like to give it a try, you can use this 10 min practice for stress reduction: Triangular Breathing

More offering around Breathwork will follow very shortly and I am beyond excited for sharing all the news with you very soon!

Until then – happy Breathing and

Much Love,
